You could race this guy, right? |
This is not to say that I'm ungrateful for my mountain bike. I am very grateful. It gets me to and from work when I bike commute. It's taken me grocery shopping when my car was in the shop. I've gone for long fast and long leisurely rides on it.
But whenever someone passes me on a road bike I get bike envy. And despite delusions earlier in the year that I could afford a road bike, a couple months on the road for interviews was eye opening in terms of the sadness of my bank account.
Alas.
I'm left with bike envy. But I've got a plan. I've decided to win the lottery this spring. It's important to be realistic.
What would you buy with a ga-zillion dollars?
Just wait until someone steals the one you want and offers it on Craiglist for $75. That's what I do. If you buy back the one that was stolen from me let me know and I'll buy it back from you...
ReplyDeleteOh dear Gracie! Yikes!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you get your bike!!!! Any chance you have a bike shop around you that does trade ins and maybe you can get a great used one for use in the mean time?
I have a mountain bike too, but I'll be honest, I prefer it to a road bike! I just don't like how far I have to lean down on a road bike, plus I always feel slightly unstable on it...who knows why. But I LOVE that bike in the picture above!! CLASSIC!
ReplyDeleteIf I ever get married again, instead of an engagement ring I want a custom carbon fiber road bike, a Serotta or Guru please. Is that too much to ask? :)
ReplyDeleteSorry but it is my week to win but if I do I will buy you your road bike.

@ Kristin: LOVE that idea!
ReplyDelete@ Kevin: That's fine. We'll take turns on the lottery. I can wait. Especially since I know you'll send me a road bike while I wait. ;)
