Bleh

Lately, I've been missing my pizazz.  While I can't complain about things in general, here's the update:

1.  Yesterday I seem to have gotten food poisoning.  No idea from where, but my Friday night activity involved projectile vomiting.  Sweet.


2.  As a result of #1, I missed my long run this morning with a friend.  Fail.  Which means I have to do a long run in the swelting heat by myself.  Just perfect.

3.  I think I have plantar fasciitis.  This isn't actually a new thing - something that's been smoldering for a while - but lately it's been particularly annoying and I feel like publicly complaining about it.  Check.

4.  I've managed to develop a sleep disorder.  I can't fall asleep at night and can't wake up in the morning.  This may have to do with the fact that I'm 2 weeks away from finishing grad school, am now on spring break & my recent rotations have demanded little to nothing of me.  Ok... so what I mean to say is that I'm going out too much which is making me a lazy bum.  I guess that's not something I should complain about.

5.  I can't come up with a #5 right now but 5 seems like a better total than 4.  No one makes lists of 4.  That would be silly.

  2. Hey I spent my Saturday night projectile vomiting too. But I'd gotten my long run done that morning and this morning I feel okay. Hope you feel better soon.

  4. Wow, we are twins! Except for a couple major things.

    1. I never got food poisoning.
    2. I made my long run date with a friend this morning.
    3. I also have PF and it's actually going away!!! Except for when I do long runs. Then it hurts all day/the next morning.
    4. I have a sleep disorder, but I sleep all the time. Can't wait up in the morning... but also fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow.
    5. Yeah.

  5. So sorry to hear about your wrecked Friday night - dang, they come around so rarely and are so precious and you spent your yaking - bummer! Hope you're feeling better.

    I'm sure I can't tell you anything about PF, but I have had it for 11 years (there was a 3 year hiatus which ended a year ago) and am finally fed up enough about it to be going to the doc on Monday. I have been told a million times by my running specialty store that I should roll my foot on a tennis ball (aggressively - my PT confirmed it would work but that it should be done daily for MONTHS - 'k I don't have that kind of time . . . or patience).
    Your schedule has been a screwed up one - working nights, then days, then there was this little party called Mardi Gras!!!!! No worries- 2 weeks of grad school- You got this!

  6. Yikes. I could use some food poisoning though to shed the pounds I packed on post-marathon ;) Re: the PF, get in touch with me if you want info. I have suffered through every imaginable stage of it all the way to tearing one. Not fun. But I *think* this is the year it will be just a nuisance and not a real injury. It sucks. Feel better!

  7. At least you are extremly honest and open with your posting! I am still laughing over the "who makes a list of 4?" Reminds me of, "Seriously, who throws a shoe!?!?"
